Conclusion:

Paypal donations and outgoings were fairly balanced, while there was a little surplus in the charity bank account (although some paypal costs came out of this when there was no available money in paypal as accounts are linked). The main outgoings were the contributions to transport to the UK for dogs being re-homed there and also food costs for foster dogs, vet bills and vaccination and passport costs etc. There were no charity events held.

Kennelling costs for Mickey are now reduced as he is no longer in paid kennelling but we do send something towards his food and cover any medical bills and were kindly donated the funds to buy him a kennel.

Conclusion: The main costs incurred were vaccination costs and passporting and there were some large clinic bills for Lucky especially (little disabled dog), Ben & Alex (old dogs with health issues) and we had Mickey. There was also more kennelling costs this year as we were mainly in the UK and not able to foster and Mickey became a long term resident at the kennels and several other dogs were at kennels for a few weeks to a couple of months. We did quite a lot of eBay selling in the latter part of the year but there was no cash donations from any charity gig nights. Overall in-comings and out-goings were fairly balanced.

Conclusion: For our second main year as a charity, we were more careful about who we worked with and helped financially after the troubles of the previous year. Also for nearly all dogs that went to new homes (permanent or foster) the majority of the transport costs were covered by the adoption fee, which helped tremendously. We obviously had a couple of dogs that had very large vet bills – mainly Sherry and Noodle. For 2014/2015 due to personal circumstances we will not be able to fund raise in Bulgaria through the charity gigs or actually foster dogs ourselves and therefore we hope the funds we have left from last financial year, along with future donations, will help us cover clinic bills and dog hotel or foster bills (we have a number of serious, long term cases – Mickey, Lilly and Lucky). We are also looking at the possibility of renting our own yard or rural property fairly close to Sofia, so as to have a safe haven for dogs that are not in a position to be re-homed.

We are in touch with the Charity Commission about whether we now need to apply for charity registration with them.
