There are many ways you can get involved with helping TwitchyNoses.
We can only help as many dogs as financial donations allow so your donations are vital:
You can of course, make a donation to TwitchyNoses and these funds will be allocated on a ‘need’ basis to either particular dogs that we rescue or to buy food for shelter dogs or dogs in our care, or provide basic veterinary care for village and chained dogs. If you are a UK tax payer we can claim Gift Aid on any donation you make, so please let us know if you are happy for us to do this.
Paypal – [email protected] (please send as a personal gift or donation so we are charged a lower transaction fee).
Bank Account (Natwest, Kendal, UK) – contact us for details.
We go through an awful lot of dog food, feeding various groups of street dogs and all the dogs in our care, as well as providing food for chained dogs and village dogs.
In Samokov you can purchase food from the small vet clinic and pet shop opposite Billa. You can just purchase the dog food there and we can collect it when we are passing.
Why not hold a one off or a regular fund-raising event for us. Maybe a coffee morning or cheese & wine evening, or maybe you would like to organise a sponsored fun run (with dogs of course), a bake-a-thon, a sponsored sports event or small concert.
Or if you could place a donation box in your shop or cafe or office, please let us know.
Or if you are a little more adventurous maybe a sky dive or another such challenge. We are more than happy to help you publicise such an event!
Purchase or Collect Particular Items
We are always in need of dog bedding, bowls, toys, collars, leads etc. We can use old duvets, blankets, curtains, towels. Please contact us to see how we can arrange collection or where you can send to. Or if you are in Bulgaria then in the summer pick-ups can be arranged anywhere around Stara Zagora, Kazanlak, Sliven and Burgas.
You can now list your unwanted items on eBay and choose Twitchynoses as the beneficiary of the sale proceeds. You can choose to donate anything from 10% to 100% of the sale proceeds.
Items We Can Sell or Use in Bulgaria
If you have recently purchased a house in Bulgaria and arrived to discover it is still full of old furniture, old rugs, maybe old wood-burners etc please do not throw anything away that we maybe able to salvage and restore to sell for money for the charity or that could be used as building materials at the shelters.
We hope in the future to be able to offer “working holidays” where by you will come and stay with us in our guest house, help out with foster dogs we may have, visit local shelters and join us on neutering campaigns as well as helping us build more pens, kennels etc. We aim to charge a nominal amount for your stay which will cover your accommodation and food and also a couple of sight seeing trips as well as give us a small amount towards the charity.
