What we do
For many years, TwitchyNoses operated as a small rescue and re-homing centre in the Kazanlak Region of Bulgaria. Overtime, the charity started to concentrate more on providing local support to villagers for veterinary care with their animals, promoting neutering and organising small scale neutering campaigns. We would often visit local municipality shelters to walk the dogs and take out those dogs that did not stand a chance – the very old and the very sick.
In more recent years, TwitchyNoses role as become more one of a supportive charity to other organisations, raising funds and delivering supplies to shelters and rescues in Ukraine, working in partnership with Silver Paws Sanctuary in Spain to help the sick, old and forgotten dogs in shelters there.
It is now hoped we can do more to help with the ever increasing rescue crisis in the UK, whilst supporting organisations around the world and funding projects in partnership with other animal welfare charities.
We are also interested to support local wild life rescues and recently visited Craven WildLife Rescue in Yorkshire to see their set up and what they do.
